Quick Start Guide

ORB Driver v1.0.9 +

This quick start guide will get the ORB Driver install and working on XProtect. For this guide we will not cover the Remote Retrieval App. This was covered in a separate guide found here Remote Retrieval Tool.

There are two main parts the the ORB Driver installer package, all included in the ZIP package. There is the [Driver] that would be installed on the XProtect Recording Server and the [Plugins] that would be installed wherever you need to manage the ORB Driver in the XProtect Management Client.

Select the Add Hardware option [Manual].

The ORB Driver does not require a User name or Password to be selected. The (Factory default) option needs to be selected if no other option is selected.

For driver selection add the [ORBNET] option, there are three options.

  1. ORBNET Multi Driver - Select for multiple channel driver (customisable number of channels)

  2. ORBNET ONVIF Driver - Select for devices that support ONVIF

  3. ORBNET Single Driver - Select for one channel driver, this driver has additional features.

Select [Next]

Add an Address, this field should only use characters valid for a URL. The best option is a description of the use for this driver, text with"-" replacing spaces is a good option.

Select the Hardware model, pick one of the three options.

Note

For Multi Driver update Port to the number of channels you wish to use.

Select [Next]

Finish the adding process for the device, camera groups, ect.. with the default options.
